Kate is a highly experienced graduate of architecture who completed a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Tasmania in 2014. She then spent two years in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable professional and personal experience by working on a diverse range of projects, ranging from small bespoke residential alterations to large scale commercial developments.

Upon her return to Tasmania in 2017, Kate discovered a renewed appreciation for her home state, which she gained during her time abroad. Before joining 1+2 in 2022, Kate worked for a local architecture practice in nipaluna/Hobart, where she further expanded her skill set in verbal and graphic communication, construction documentation, detail understanding, as well as her problem solving ability.

Kate's passion for architecture is driven by the diverse challenges it presents. She is continually expanding her knowledge and understanding, which keeps her inspired and motivated. Kate derives particular enjoyment from designing small spaces that reflect the human scale, and she strongly believes that the beauty of architecture is held in the detail. Her approach to sustainability is grounded in a back-to-basics philosophy of recycling, reducing, and reusing wherever possible. Kate is committed to high-quality architecture that is designed and built to last.
