Our co-founding director Fred Ward is an accomplished and recognised architect with over 30 years of local, national and international experience in the field. His strengths lie in directing complex and demanding design processes, working closely with clients and contractors, and achieving optimum outcomes. Throughout his career, Fred has honed his skills in designing and coordinating multifaceted projects, often within demanding budget and time constraints.
Fred's academic and professional background includes graduating with Honours from the University of Tasmania in 1992, becoming registered while working in Victoria in 1998, and practicing in London on projects across Europe and the USA before returning to his home state.
As an active member of the AIA, Fred has been an invited final year tutor and examiner at the University of Tasmania School of Architecture and has served as a jury member in the Australian Institute of Architects awards programme on multiple occasions. In 2022, Fred was awarded the title of Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, recognizing his outstanding contribution to the field.
