Cath is a founding director of 1+2 Architecture and a registered architect with over 30 years of local and international experience. She is a highly skilled and design-driven practitioner, known for creating architecture that balances conceptual clarity, spatial richness, and functional performance. Her work is consistently informed by a deep commitment to design excellence and a desire to create memorable user experiences.
Cath brings extensive experience navigating complex planning environments and contractual frameworks. Her leadership is characterised by a clear design vision, collaborative engagement, and a strong emphasis on delivering projects that exceed client and community expectations.
Cath graduated with First Class Honours in Architecture from the University of Tasmania in 1992 and has been a registered architect since 1996. She has lived in New Zealand and New York where she undertook substantive short-term architecture roles. She operated her own practice for 2 years prior to co-founding 1+2 Architecture in 2002.
Her professional contributions extend beyond practice. She is a current and former elected member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) Tasmanian Chapter Council (2017–2020; 2024–present), a board member of the Board of Architects of Tasmania (2003–2013; 2024–present), and serves as a AACA registration assessor. Cath has participated as a jury member for the AIA Tasmanian Chapter Awards, a member of the National Visiting Panel to the UTas School of Architecture, and as a guest lecturer at the University of Tasmania.
In recognition of her significant contribution to the profession, Cath was awarded a Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2020.
